Place: The Boardroom, 2025. The Interrogation Begins
The scene is clinical. Spotless glass walls, a venture firm’s logo embossed on the door, a minimalist desk arranged with precision. The only thing cluttering the room was the stack of pitch decks, dozens of them, each promising exponential growth, market domination, and billion-dollar exits.
At the centre of it all sat Victor, The Venture Capitalist. Sharp suit, sharper instincts. A person who lived by one mantra: scale fast or die trying.
“You seem surprised to see me here,” he said, leaning back in his chair. “Sure, Mary’s struggling. But what does that have to do with me?”
Ivor dropped a thick file onto the table. Inside, a trail of broken CMOs, failed startups, and an obsession with short-term results that had left Marketing gasping for air.
“Let’s start with the facts,” Ivor said.
Ivor turned the file toward The Venture Capitalist. “CMOs don’t last long in your world, do they?….. You made CMOs disposable. And when they didn’t deliver miracles, you discarded them.”
Victor smirked. “Business moves fast. If they can’t keep up, they’re not the right fit.”
As Victor leaned back, the smirk never leaving his face, Ivor tapped the thick file on the table. There was more, so much more.
Another file is about to be revealed.
To be continued……..
